Sydney day 3, 4 &5

shots from above of sydney..
trying to locate where is habour bridge from here..

Sydney day 3

since we are not fasting already ( HARI RAYA !!), we were set to do all the walking , eating and shopping that we could. The day before, we were sitting on the bus most of the time just for sight seeing.. kings cross train station.. our place is a 5 min walk to here..

we walked a bit to the city centre..William's street ? It was getting a bit warm, but still considered pleasant enough. Have not had the same weather as Singapore in a while. It was a really refreshing feeling of warmth. Even buildings here are similar to home. Flats and high rise everywhere. my first proper coffee after a month of fasting. relief...that was morning of Eid, calling my mum n family, .. sebak babe..roamed around to get familiar with all the streets and found new buildings to see. And there, we found a gem, QVB (Queen Victoria Building). It was just magnificently beautiful. It is where some branded goods are. This building is partly owned by IPOH garden by the way.im not sure if this is the original or an add-on, but its a cast iron spiral staircase. one very fancy clockthis place reminded me of Alice in Wonderland, a few doors are shorter in height. The ceramic tiles were remarkably beautiful.. i have not seen such rich features before.dont know how this photo turned out like a honeymoon shot. heheheeAfter a whole day of just walking, and shopping, and walking and eating...The things sold there were not much difference from Melbourne, so only got some souvenirs. We followed Liz to her Aunt's place in Fairfield, which is about 30 mins on train from the Central train station. Ben met us up in central and we were off to fairfield at the peak hour of the day. their public bus feels like an old SBS.Had to walk abit in the dark, through fields and a 'forest' with Ben leading the way... but its ok rite ladies, a little walking wont harm .. we got to see hunks playing soccer on the football field that night !!
They welcomed us warmly to their humble place.. and we had Briyani dam for dinner! Kesian kan.. ni la hari raya aku.. khekhekhe.. nasi briyani pon jadilah.. Really a pleasure meeting Aunt Sheila's family. And yar, i had a first taste of date cake there.. splendid.
got to play my old favourite pastime.. sekarang dah taubat eh.. dah tak nak tonggeng2 lagik. wahahahha
Double decker city train, something like an MRT, but an older version. I was so glad we went out from the city centre to one of the suburbs of Sydney. Got to see Sydney in a wider view of the transportation, people and also homes. Anyway, trains here are not prim and proper like in SG or in Melbourne. A bit worn off, by some vandalism, but still comfortable.
People here, they kept to themselves alot. Not like in melbourne or geelong, it is a more friendly atmosphere. And being in sydney, it opened my eyes to their under priviledged society, mostly the homeless aborigins who roamed the streets. Well, in Melbourne, we dont see much, or maybe none of these people around. It is just so sad seeing them wasting their life drinking, smoking their life away and homeless..But, maybe it was'nt their fault anyway.

that was actually the scariest train ride i ever had, it was 11 pm , and we had to stay in the 'nightsafe' part of the carriage .. better be safe yar... Even then, there were a few not very pleasant people on the train with us. Sydney is not the safest city in the world but guess every city has its own dangerous side of it.

Sydney Day 4..

planned to climb the habour bridge and also go around the darling habour, circular quay, all habours.. u name it.. we are up for it. We were too lazy to walk to circular quay, took the train there...

when we reached the place where we could book places for climbing the top of the bridge...too bad, found out that it cost more than 100 bucks fo r the climb.. firstly, its expensive, and in that weather, me being a putri lilin.. tak nak aku hangus! Maybe next time i will get to climb the top of Habour Bridge..sad :(so we have to do it just by walking across the bridge.. mind you, its further than causeway ok! Macam jalan kat tambak johor. And no way am i going back walking across again.
view of opera house from the stopovers that we took on the bridge..
anyway, i dont know why, i felt light headed and nauseous while walking. had to stop halfway.. and letak minyak kapak ok! Must be the vibrations and also the vehicle fumes..Next destination .. LUNA PARK! this is across the bridge. WE thought it was a fun fair for adults.. but. hehehe, most of the rides are for kids.
Liz recommended the fish and chips here. After that really tiring and nak muntah walk across the bridge..that was the best fish n chips i ever had.. seriously. And the best part was.. they served fries.. not chips.. which to me is so much nicersyiookkkkk!!
fish n chips with scenery of anzac bridge at the background
holiday pose
the ferry that we took from LUNA park to Darling Habour

Next stop is darling habour, for the shopping and also to see the maritime museum.

us... waiting for the ferry..

the sunset views of the bridge while on board the ferry.. just spectacular

We decided to check out a pancake house, by recommendation also. SInce they say it is the best in sydney. PANCAKES ON THE ROCKS..
obviously it is located on the THE ROCKS.. where the happening night life is. The rocks is something like clarke quay

really good nachos..
had strawberry pancakes with vanilla ice cream.. .. favourite! and also greek delight crepe...
Devils chocolate pancakes? is that the name?

happy faces..
anyone going sydney should really stop by this place.

just to make full use of our thursday, .. me n yam decided to roam the night scene of sydney. Well.. it was a really busy night for everyone.. nice weather to chill by the bay

The next day.. well since we have seen 70 percent of sydney . and did almost everything that we could think of. Just time to relax.. and finish some last shopping.. and do some eating as well. WEnt to WORLD Market? i cant remember the name. Saw Thai Express there.. just had to have some asian food..

One very new thing we have seen in the city of Sydney, are TOILETS.. not just normal toilets, these are automated toilets usually found near parks. Obviously thats where you cant find anywhere to have a pee. haha. the machine needs 50 cents to operate each time and every "session" lasts maximum 20 minutes. the door will open automaticly if u use it longer.. so.... tadaaa.!! beware of your surroundings when ur doing your business!
Of course, us, being very 'creative' did few video shots of toilet scenes...

Just a few hours before the end of our trip, we were doing all our last minute shopping (yar more souvenirs) and chill out coffee session plus.... a chill out in the HYDE park. Thats where i got stalked by a guy , well.. what can i say eh.. attention comes to me wherever i go. WAHAHAHAHA!!!

yam n pris went to the museum to see some mummies and gems..
then... back to home..
thats all for our very happening SYDNEY IN SPRING!
